Question: What is the most important thing to know about God? Does the Bible tell what God is like?
Answer: The most important truth God communicates throughout the Bible is how much He loves us!
God wanted to accept men and women into His presence in heaven after they died, but He could not because they were sinful. So God sent His Son Jesus into the world to bridge the gap between Himself and the human beings He created. God had a very unusual plan for this!
For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn it. He did this so that the world could be saved. John 3:17
God also sent Jesus to live on earth as a man so that people would know what God was really like. Jesus agreed to this plan and died so that people could someday go to heaven to live in a paradise. The Bible says that nothing can change God’s mind about loving the people He made.
If God is for us, who could possibly succeed against us?…Who is strong enough to separate us from the love of Christ? Will difficult circumstances, distress, persecution, famine, poverty, dangerous times, or war?…I am convinced that neither death nor life, nor angels nor demons now or in the future will ever be able to keep God from continuing the love He has demonstrated to us through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 8:31-39
When you realize how much God loves you and that He sent Jesus to save you, you begin to follow His example and love others. In fact, God sends His own spirit, the Holy Spirit, to live inside of you and guide you through daily life. When you are a believer, you feel a love for God and other people that you have never experienced before (Romans 5:5).
Have you accepted God’s great love for you, or have you refused His gift?
Don’t wait! If you want to be sure that you are counted as a member of God’s family for eternity, say to God right now:
Jesus, I know I have done many wrong things, but I want to change. I believe that you are God’s Son, and I want you to be the master of my life to show me the right ways to live my life. I believe what your Bible says about you dying on the cross to pay the penalty for my sins so that I may come to heaven after I die. I know you came back from the dead and are waiting for me in heaven! -Amen
