Elections- Vote and Trust God

Question:  I am so worried about how the upcoming election will turn out. What if a person gets elected who doesn’t care about Christians and our faith?

Answer:  God knows exactly what we worry about, and He has sent us His message through the scriptures: Trust Him.

Our part is to pray, tell God our concerns, listen for his guidance, and vote.  His part is to continue to control the events on the earth.  The Bible tells is that He works all things for the good of those He has called for His purposes (Romans 8:28).  His Word says that people devise their plans, but He controls how events will turn out (Proverbs 16:9, 19:21).  God sees into the future and has our destiny and our country’s destiny in mind at all times.  He goes ahead of us and paves the way, although we can’t understand His purposes during that time. We read in biblical history that sometimes He sent good leaders to His people, and His purposes were accomplished.  At other times, He allowed terrible leaders to be in power, for a while, and His purposes were fulfilled.  His plans are always completed. And they are always in our best interest.

Ask God to help you trust him and have faith during these uncertain and frightening times in our country. God is getting you ready for the future, and He is getting the future ready for you!
For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans to help you and not to hurt you, to give you a future and a hope.  Jeremiah 29:11

Remember, the day after the election, the people of our country will have selected new leaders.  But our same God, who forever rules our country and the entire universe, will still be on His heavenly throne!  Here’s encouragement for your faith and comfort for you from Jesus:

So why are you still worrying [about earthly things]?  Unbelievers worry all the time.  Focus instead on God and how to please Him, and God will take care of everything else.  Matthew 6:31-33

Do your part, and urge others to VOTE!
