Question:  Why did God place me in this life? Is it my only chance to live on the earth?

Answer: This life is a one-time experience God has offered you. There is no second time around. The Bible is exceedingly clear that no reincarnation is possible. THIS IS IT! The human spirit or soul lives on forever, either in heaven or hell.

“…it is appointed for men to die once but after this, the judgment.”  Hebrews 9:27

God created you as one-of-a-kind.  He has special purposes for you and your life.  First and foremost, He wants a loving relationship with you!  Imagine this – the God of the universe made you and placed you in your life so He could be with you every single day and night! By all means, recognize and acknowledge Him!

When you put your trust in God, nothing in His plans for you will be left undone or unaccomplished by the end of your life.  He will act through you. Second, He wants you to love and care for others. Jesus said that when we take care of others’ needs, He counts it as though we did it directly for Him!  (Matthew 25: 40, 45) This achieves another goal God has for believers, of bringing honor, renown, and “glory” to Him as a sign and example to others who are watching.

If you knew today or this week was your last one to live on earth, what would you do differently?

  • Pray more?
  • Tell more people about Jesus?
  • Show more care or affection to your family?
  • Call someone you haven’t talked to lately?
  • Take more time to be with special friends?
  • Do special favors for others?

So that you will have no regrets at the close of your life, ask Jesus every day to be your guide and lead you everywhere you should go to serve Him and others. Ask Him to lead you to talk with people He would have you to learn from, help, and encourage. Be assured, He will be present and working alongside you all day, wherever you go. Demonstrating His love is the true goal!  If you don’t act out His love to others, how will they know of His love for them?

“Jesus said to him:  You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with your whole soul, and with your whole mind…And love your neighbor like you love yourself. On these two commandments depend all of God’s law and the teachings of the prophets.”

Matthew 22:35-40

Have you accepted Jesus’ free gift to you of living eternally with Him in heaven in the future? If you want to be sure, pray or say this to Him:

Jesus, I know I have committed many wrongs during my life, and I want to be forgiven. I know that you died on a cross to take my punishment from God so that my sins would not count against me. Thank you! Come into my life right now and show me how you want me to live every day. I want to be with you forever! Amen.

“For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”  John 3:16
